Happy New Year!

Happy New Year everyone! We are happy that everyone is back and we are ready to continue our fantastic school year. Before future activities arrive, we would like to thank Rising Stars and the parent volunteers who helped at our Christmas Turkey Lunch last month. Joy Day and our Advent Craft Night was a success. Even though the freezing temperatures outside, everyone still had a fantastic time. On another note, thank you to everyone who supported our grade 8 Graduating Class of 2018 with the poinsettia fundraiser. We are all very excited for our graduation trip in June.

What events are coming up this month, you ask? On January 25, we will be having our annual Snuggle Up and Read Day at our school when students come to school in their pajamas and older students read to younger students. Also, our school is proud to say that we have started a school news crew, hosted by a handful of our 7th graders. They will be broadcasting future events, comedy, and facts on our P.A System every Friday. We will keep you informed on future festivities. We hope everyone has a safe and happy month! Take care!

Sincerely,

Jazmine Wall-Gordon (VP) &

Jasmine Pereira (President)

October: The Spooktacular Month

Hello everyone,

What a spooktacular month we've had! The month of October is always fun at St. Brigid! We've organized many activities and events including our Thanksgiving food drive when we collected 490 canned goods to give to St. Matthew's house over a period of 4 days. We've also worn purple on October 24th to raise awareness for preventing child abuse and neglect. Almost everyone was wearing something purple and it was a very positive day. From October 25th-31st, everyone participated in door decorating and pumpkin decorating. Everything looked fabulous and spooky! This year, everyone had the opportunity to wear their Halloween costumes to school. All of our primary students participated in a Halloween parade of the top floor with our student council.

We also have a couple other events planned for November such as United Way day which is taking place today. On United Way day, we wear red and white and everyone brings in a $2.oo donation to support United Way. We are also selling poinsettias to raise money for our grade 8 graduates. If you would like to purchase poinsettias, the forms are due by November 15th. Our goal this month is to sell as many poinsettias as possible to help the graduates of 2018 for their graduation night.

Sincerely,
Your President Jasmine Pereira and Your Communications Officer Jazmine Wall-Gordon

Welcome Back!

Hello, my name is Jasmine P., and I am the President here at St. Brigid C.E.S., and my name is Jazmine W., the Communication Officer, and we are part of the school Student Council. We would both like to welcome you to the new school year of 2017-2018! Recently we’ve had a school welcoming BBQ where parents got to meet their child(ren)’s new school year teacher. The environment was very happy and friendly. There was music, activities and food for everyone. One of the best parts of this event was that everyone enjoyed each other’s company. There were different tables where students learned new and interesting information about different things. Our BBQ was a good opportunity to see many people.
We can assure you that you will be notified about our upcoming events, especially our Terry Fox Walk/Run taking place on Friday, September 29th, 2017.
We’ll be back soon!
